My professional journey has been both diverse and fulfilling. I began my career in sales and business development, which allowed me to work across various industries, from automotive services to recruitment. Each role taught me valuable lessons about driving revenue, building strategic partnerships, and leading teams. My passion for making a difference led me to establish the Set Them Up Foundation, where I now focus on providing financial education to children to help break the cycle of poverty.
Currently, I serve as the Founder of the Set Them Up Foundation. My role involves overseeing our initiatives to improve financial literacy among children and collaborating with educational institutions to close the financial literacy gap. In the future, I aim to expand our foundation’s reach globally, ensuring that financial education becomes a fundamental part of curriculums worldwide.
While my career has taken some unexpected turns, I believe everything happens for a reason. I didn’t initially envision myself leading a non-profit organization, but my experiences with financial challenges in my own life steered me in this direction. I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had and how they’ve shaped my path, allowing me to make a meaningful impact on others.
My education provided me with a strong foundation in critical thinking and problem-solving, which has been invaluable throughout my career. Although I didn’t study financial literacy formally, the skills I gained during my schooling have helped me navigate the complexities of running a business and leading an organization. My experiences have reinforced the importance of continuous learning, which I’ve incorporated into the programs we offer at the foundation.
At the Set Them Up Foundation, we’re currently working on several exciting projects, including a financial literacy curriculum designed specifically for primary school children. We’re also developing an interactive online platform that will make financial education more accessible and engaging for students. Additionally, we’re partnering with various organizations to launch community workshops aimed at empowering parents to support their children’s financial education.
One of my proudest achievements is the launch and growth of the Set Them Up Foundation. Seeing the positive impact we’ve made on children’s lives has been incredibly rewarding. Another significant achievement was during my time with Auto Panache, where I led a team that achieved a turnover of £250,000 in the first year. These accomplishments have reinforced my belief in the power of perseverance and innovative thinking.
