About Jennifer Tsang

I started out working at a tech company early in my career as an intern. At this point I still wasn’t sure what career path I wanted to go down, so I just went with it! It turned out to be the best decision of my life because I have grown my career over the last 20 years in Learning and Development, having the opportunity to work with a lot of talented people and organizations. You just never know where life will take you and I am a big believer in going with your gut and trusting in fate. There is something liberating about having no idea what to expect because you can allow life to just happen. I feel that life happens in stages, and I would consider my time over the last 20 years at a high-tech company the first stage of my journey, so what’s next?

With this incredible experience I’ve been fortunate to build great skills, but I began to realize that something was missing. Over the last few years I have been doing a lot of reflecting and I realized something – I was really passionate about Coaching and I had actually been doing it for many years and never realized it. I had coached teams through audits, projects, process improvement activities and been informally coaching on a one to one basis when it dawned on me – I was transitioning to the second stage of my journey.

Which is where I meet you today. I began a Leadership Coaching Graduate Program through the University of Texas at Dallas earlier this year and am expected to be completed by February of 2021. In addition to my academic work I have also logged over 120 hours coaching individuals and groups. As I entered this second stage of my journey, I found my passion for helping people and teams Activate Their Humanity – a movement towards co-creating with others to remove barriers and roadblocks to bring out your best, truest self in both your personal and professional life. I have successfully incorporated coaching as a leadership style into various roles I’ve held over the years, using curiosity, cognitive coaching and motivational interviewing to build strong connections, form deeper understandings to people and problems and led teams to remove roadblocks, barriers and challenges to deliver high value outcomes.

When I think of Jenn, what immediately pops into mind is “…. is there nothing this intelligent, passionate, creative professional can’t do??” I have never known someone more willing to take on new programs/projects and get up to speed more quickly than she. She has done everything from upskilling on new tools - so that she can harness and direct an extremely diverse core group of subject matter experts across global time zones to a successful program launch finish line (within deadline), to utilizing her extensive network to push/prod/finesse the completion metrics for a mandatory global training (across an organization with thousands of delinquent colleagues). And one of the main reasons she can be so successful is because people TRULY enjoy working with her. She is open-minded, flexible, warm, friendly and extremely business savvy. Her creative and out-of-the-box thinking is such that she makes what seemed to be an impossible task turn into a winning solution. And she does all of this with such a calm demeanor, that one instantly feels soothed knowing that ‘the calvary has arrived to save the day’. I can’t say enough good things about such an amazing individual, and I’ve been so lucky to have had her in my corner. She is an asset to all that she comes in contact with, and I’m fortunate enough to have benefited from her amazing skill set myself. You’re one in a million, Jenn!
